FAQ

Q: How it can detect stops if it doesn't use GPS or Internet, or subway maps?
A: Well, the trick is smart and simple: it uses microphone to monitor noise level.
Q: I want free version!
A: It will be available in AppStore at the same time as paid version. Subway Alarm Lite is absolutely free, but it can detect only three stops in a row. It is mainly intended for people who want to test how it works in their subway before buying paid version.
Q: Does it work in any subway?
A: Mostly yes. But there are subways with additional powerful sound sources which prevent application from working correctly. Currently it's known to work incorrectly in New York Subway because of loud conditioning systems.
Q: Subway Alarm waked me up one stop before I needed!
A: Sorry, it happens. Since it depends on microphone and noise level, it may work worse if you put your iPhone into a pocket made of thick fabric or leather. However, usually it works fine in pockets, bags, backpacks, etc.
Q: Does it work in background? I want to have working it in the background when I am watching movies or playing games.
A: Sorry, currently it is technically impossible. iOS doesn't allow for applications like Subway Alarm to work in background.
Q: Are you going to improve it?
A: Yes, of course!
Q: I want version for another mobile platform!
A: We are working on them, don't worry!
